Description
The STP of the University of Girona was born to create a real knowledge transfer from university to market, offering added value services in order to improve competitiveness in a local and regional scale. The UdG Park is devised like a union of resources around researchers, students and companies, in order to create synergies among these groups, such as university-enterprise centres and incubation systems. The Park is sited in La Creueta area, very close to the University Montilivi Campus, in a surface of 73.000 m2. The first phase of construction includes the setting up of four buildings: Jaume Casademont Building, which includes the common services, the incubator and the university-enterprise centres, the Centre of Submarine Robotics (CIRS), the Centre of New Food Technologies and GiroEmprèn Building, which will include a Biotechnology Centre and spaces to let for companies. The second phase of construction includes the H2O Building, home of the Water Research Institute and the Monturiol Building, whose spaces will be shared by three projects: the Innovation Centre of Tourism Industries, a Multimedia Research Centre and a Virtual Reality Research Centre.
