0 commentsThe second edition of the Biotechnology and Healthcare Euroregional Meetings will be held in Montpellier on 1 and 2 July, organized by Eurobiomed, Biomerides and Mar Tech. A delegation of companies and organizations from the Catalan biotech and pharma sector, coordinated by Biocat, is scheduled to attend.
The latest edition of these meetings, held in December 2007, acted as a springboard to start up the Southern Europe Biocluster (BSE), a network of euroregional life sciences clusters made up of Biocat (Catalonia), Eurobiomed (Languedoc-Roussillon) and Cancer Bio-Santé (Midi-Pyrénées), later joined by Innovalis, Prod’Innov (Aquitania) and the newly created BioIBAL cluster (Balearic Islands).
Members of the BSE network drive these new Euroregional Meetings with the aim of fostering knowledge among biotech and healthcare stakeholders in the member regions, promoting the generation of joint projects, accelerating existing scientific and economic cooperation projects, and helping take stock of the realities of innovation in these territories.
Furthermore, the meetings allow participants to meet possible partners that are located close by –southern France, Balearic Islands and Catalonia–, as well as other international partners attracted by the dynamism of this area, which includes key cities in the European life sciences panorama like Toulouse and Barcelona.
The agenda is made up of conferences, round tables and workshops; partnering sessions; an exhibition area –including the noteworthy Technology Room for innovative companies and information points for research organizations– and company presentations in the plenary sessions.
In order to encourage and facilitate the presence of companies and organizations from the BioRegion of Catalonia, Biocat provides the following information and grants:
