Study biological and health sciences abroad

Each year, more than 3,000 Catalan students study at European universities thanks to a grant from the Erasmus exchange program. Spain is ranked third in number of students (22,322) that study in Europe, after Germany (23,884) and France (22,981). More than half of these students (63%) decide to study a PhD abroad, choosing countries like Italy, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The areas of study with the most exchanges –the latest data is from the 2004-2005 school year–, are social sciences, technical sciences and humanities. Science and health sciences make up 7% and 6% of the total, respectively.
