The European consortium EIT Health presents a new pioneering initiative, Wild Card, to identify and support innovative and high-risk ideas with the potential to transform an area within European healthcare. This way, the program will allocate 4 million euros to innovative projects in the areas of artificial intelligence and big data and antibiotic resistance.
Creating new solutions that use AI to quickly interpret large data sets is one of the challenges that Wild Card proposes for entrepreneurs. Thus, one of the objectives is to develop and construct new methods for using, structuring and obtaining large amounts of data in order to improve healthcare and patient diagnosis.
Antibiotic resistance could become one of the biggest European health problems in the coming years. This is why the second challenge proposed by the program focuses on developing innovative solutions to face antibiotic resistance, a growing problem that can affect a lot of people.
Entrepreneurs, innovators and European experts can apply for the call until March 9, 2018.
Those selected will be invited to participate in a tournament scheduled for 16-20 April 2018, where the two projects will be chosen to participate in the program.
