María Eugenia has a degree in industrial engineering and business organization, worked two years at industrial companies and six in project management providing incubation services for start-ups at the UPC. She quit her job to join d·HEALTH Barcelona, the program promoted by Biocat to train healthcare entrepreneurs. Through a contact in the program, she met a researcher at the UB and, after exploring the possible commercial applications for the technology he was developing with his research group, they decided to create the company ColorSensing, as a spin-off of the UB.
With Chemistry studies from the University of Munich and a PhD in Biochemistry from the IRB Barcelona, Jascha Blobel worked as a business developer in pharma for 5 years before realising his dream of creating a next generation Artificial Intelligence (AI) biotech company at the beginning of the AI boom. He’s the CEO of Molomics.
Flavia Wahl holds a Master's Degree in Business with a focus in Psychology and she combines over 10 years of experience in technology and digital health. Before founding iBreve she worked for Google in Dublin and Boston. She was named in Forbes among the top 50 Women-Led Startups Disrupting HealthTech and was winner of Ireland's Best Young Entrepreneur for Dublin City.
After studying Bioinformatics in the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, João Curado arrived in Barcelona in the end of 2009 to pursue his PhD in Computational Biology at the CRG. During those years he founded the Innovation Forum, a network that helps scientists to give the first steps in business creation. In the intersection of both experiences Curado realized there was an opportunity to translate his scientific knowledge to the clinical practice and he started working in what today is Flomics.
Degree in Biotechnology and Master in Nanoscience from Rovira i Virgili University, Master in Creation and Management of Innovative Technology-Based Companies from the University of Barcelona. He worked as a researcher at a nano-sensor lab at Rovira i Virgili University, where he developed the idea for the start-up he founded and has led since 2017: CreatSens Health.
Technical Engineering Degree in Telecommunications and a Higher Engineering Degree in Electronics, plus a Master in Business Administration from Ramon Llull University. He was a product and pre-sales leader at Mediacloud, which belongs to the international group Mediapro. He has 25 years of experience as a manager at technology companies like British Telecom, Deutsche Bank, Telefónica and Tiscali, and founded two other companies before starting Biel Glasses based on the experience of his own son, Biel, who has low vision.
