Start-ups in the BioRegion of Catalonia, the Catalan healthcare and life sciences sector, attracted a total of 226 million euros in funding in 2020, up to 84% more than the previous year.
More than half of this funding (140.22 million) came from venture capital funds, and 62% came from investment rounds with international participation.
For the third time in a row, the Financial Times has recognized Catalonia as the best region to invest in southern Europe for the period 2020-2021.
