A total of 20 companies and 5 institutions will make up the Catalan delegation coordinated by Biocat to BIO Philadelphia 2015, the top global convention and partnering event in the biotechnology sector.

This year’s event will be held from 15 to 18 June 2015 in Philadelphia (United States). The Philadelphia metropolitan area is home to more than 1,200 companies, ranging from large multinational corporations in the biopharmaceutical industry to national companies with great projection and high growth. The exhibitors participating in BIO, thus, will have the chance to meet top executives and decision-makers attending the convention to discover new stakeholders in the industry, forge partnerships and assess emerging technology.

BioRegion of Catalonia at BIO 2015

The BioRegion of Catalonia will have its own space in the Spanish pavilion, which this year will be in a privileged spot near one of the main entrances to the fair and next to one of its main sponsors. The Spanish pavilion this year is #booth2301.

The Catalan companies participating this year are mainly biotechnology firms, like Anaxomics Biotech, Plasmia Biotech, Mitelos, BCN Peptides, Specific Pig, Bionure, Proteodesign, Bioingenium, GP Pharm, Biokit, and Oryzon Genomics, and pharmaceutical companies like Gebro Pharma, Laboratorios Salvat, Bioibérica, SOM Biotech and Ability Pharma.

Some consultancy firms and business development companies will also attend, including Trifermed, Insights in Life Sciences (ILS), Spherium Biomed and Oficina Ponti.

Seven of the organizations in the Catalan delegation will have their own booth, while the rest have chosen to participate under the partnering option.

In addition to companies, 5 Catalan institutions will also attend the fair:  ACCIÓ, the business competitiveness agency of the Government of Catalonia; the Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Barcelona (IRB Barcelona); the Biomedical Engineering Research Center (CREB) of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC); the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) and the Barcelona Science Park (PCB).

Furthermore, we ask that all Catalan companies attending BIO Philadelphia 2015, even if they have chosen to do so outside the scope of the delegation organized by Biocat, let us know in order to add them to the dissemination and communications actions during the fair.
