The second edition of the Barcelona International Conference on Healthy Ageing will take place on 19 and 20 June at the University of Barcelona Faculty of Medicine, at Hospital Clínic. This event, organized by the Health University of Barcelona Campus (HUBc), aims to analyze the ageing process currently underway among the populations of developed countries. Other topics will include how health professionals and the public administration work to promote healthy habits to foster active ageing in order to fight the possible negative effects of this demographic shift.

Some of the experts that will be participating in this international conference on active ageing include John Morley, international expert from the Geriatric Medicine and Endocrinology Division of the Saint Louis University School of Medicine who will give the opening lecture; Cornelia Weyand, of the Division of Immunology and Rheumatology at the Stanford University School of Medicine; and Ricardo Pujol, of the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital (HUVH) Department of Immunology.

The conference aims to view ageing through multiple disciplines: from medicine to biology, genetics, neurology and technology from a global perspective that also includes the social sciences.
