This program helps entrepreneurs develop their business plan, create a network of contacts and access the global market
The call for applications to the 2014 edition of BioEmprenedorXXI has been extended through 15 June. The program, promoted by Barcelona Activa, Biocat and la Caixa, provides support in creating technology-based companies in and discipline of the life sciences in Catalonia, including biomedicine, biotechnology, medical technology and the agrifood sector. The program aims to help entrepreneurs develop their business plan while broadening their network of contacts and facilitating their access to the global market.
On 27 May, an event was held at the Sant Agustí Convent in Barcelona to present BioEmprenedorXXI. The presentation brought together life sciences and clean energy entrepreneurs, and featured Susana Tintoré, executive director of Services at Barcelona Activa, and Montserrat Vendrell, CEO of Biocat, among others. Throughout their many editions (seven of BioEmprenedorXXI and four of EcoEmprenedorXXI), the two programs have led to the creation of 77 companies and generated 374 new jobs, figures that prove the efficacy of the initiative and the quality of participating projects.
