They will be presented by Carles Trenchs of Caixa Capital Risc, Susana Tintoré of Barcelona Activa and Montserrat Vendrell of Biocat, on 19 November.
A total of 14 business projects in the life sciences participated in the BioEmprenedorXXI program this year, now in its sixth edition and promoted by "la Caixa", Barcelona Activa and Biocat. From June through mid October, the entrepreneurs participated in practical training courses in each of the areas of the business plan to validate the feasibility and consistency of their business idea, as well as skills training and personalized mentoring.
Of the participating projects, three will be recognized with €10,000, €5,000 and €3,000 euros, as well as various training, internationalization, communication and incubation actions. The awards ceremony will be held on 19 November in Barcelona with representatives of the promoting bodies. The event is open to the business and science community and will conclude with a networking space.
Furthermore, the event will also feature the conference Current and future trends in fast emerging biomedical technologies, by US entrepreneur and investor Michael Dillhyon. Dyllhyon currently lives in Switzerland and is the Managing Partner of Avadilon. He has been named the first Entrepreneur in Residence of SystemsX, the most important life sciences initiative in Switzerland to promote public-private partnerships. He is also on the advisory board of the European HealthTIES consortium to promote innovation in medical technology, in which Biocat also participates.
