BME-IDEA was started in 2003 when a group of professors who were teaching design in a Biomedical Engineering department or program in Standford Unviersity realized that there were common needs among them that were not being met by current conference offerings. The BME IDEA Symposium 2016 hosted by INNO-X Healthcare is part of the BME-IDEA EU meetings that are taking place in Europe since 2013. The Symposium will primarily be for the members of BME IDEA network in the US and EU.
Review the experiences of different university programs involved in innovation, design, technology transfer and entrepreneurship in biomedical engineering education.
Raquel Riera, Head of Innovation and Talent Development at Biocat, will take part on the conference Biodesign in EU and US University Programs (on Monday 6, at 13h), where she will explain about the biodesign program d·HEALTH Barcelona (initative of Biocat).
On Tuesday 7 at 10.35h, Jorge Juan Fernández, academic director of Moebio (initiative of Biocat from where d·HEALTH Barcelona is part), will participate at the conference International perspectives from the BME Idea community, 3 minutes, together with James Moore, from the Imperial College London; Sjoerd Haasl, from the Center for Technology in Medicine and Health of Karolinska Institutet (Sweden) and Michael Friebe, from Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg (Alemanya).
