The brain is a perfect mirror of the evolutionary history of the human species, it is the body’s most complex organ and it functions by means of highly delicate trial-and-error mechanisms, which have enabled us to keep adapting to our surroundings. What, then, can we make of psychopharmacology and the new biotechnologies which seek to expand or heighten brain activity? Would the “enhanced” brain be an ally of humankind or might it become a problem?
These and other questions will be answered on this conference celebrated on the framework of +HUMAN exhibition. It will be carried out by the neuroscientist Jean-Pierre Changeux, and moderated by Victòria Camps, Emeritus Professor on Ethics and Politics of Philosophy at UAB.
Free of charge: Amics del CCCB (Friends of the CCCB), unemployed, certified teachers (with ID) and “Targeta Rosa” pensioners.
