This new Lessons Learned session, the first of 2015, focuses on Drug Discovery & Development. Registration opens 11 February 2015.
Drug development is the starting point for developing a new molecular entity. For some time now, companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector have focused on this period, as it conditions a large part of later strategic processes. Among others, it sets the subsequent patent strategy, as well as the R&D and registration plan to bring new molecules to the clinical arena and to market. One of the most crucial factors nowadays is the substantial increase in R&D expenditure, which has not been accompanied by proportional growth in the registration of new drugs. As a result, new strategies in the sector are geared towards cutting unnecessary costs, making the company’s pipeline more profitable and better predicting how molecules will behave in clinical trials.
The sessions Lessons Learned: Sharing experiences to boost competitiveness are a knowledge and networking forum geared towards professionals from companies in the life sciences arena. They aim to allow participants to share their experience and reflections in various strategic areas of knowledge and the skills needed to boost competitiveness in biotechnology companies.
