BIO International Convention, the most important partnering event in the global biotechnology sector, will take place in 2019 in the city of Philadelphia from June 3 to 6. The Spanish pavilion will be shared by all companies, including those from Catalonia, who will manage participation through ICEX.
Once again this year, ICEX is coordinating the participation of companies from all of Spain in BIO International Convention, the most important partnering event in the global biotechnology sector. The chosen city this year is Philadelphia and the event will be held from June 3 to 6. The Spanish pavilion (booth #2301) will be shared by all companies, regardless of which bioregion they are from. The partnering system to request meetings is open since April 2.
Biocat will attend the fair and help spread the word on the Catalan presence in Philadelphia, but will not coordinate the delegation nor act as a liaison with ICEX. Within this space, some companies will have their own work space, among which are BCN Peptides, Oryzon Genomics and Parc Científic de Barcelona.
On June 4 from 5:30pm to 7pm, the BIO Exhibitor Hospitality Receptions will take place. Concurring with the hospitality receptions in the exhibition space, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, ICEX organizes in the Spanish pavilion (booth 2301) the seminar "Financing innovative biotech companies in Spain, Europe and internationally", where Spanish and American companies and institutions will meet. During this conference, prestigious international speakers, such as Stephane Hogan (Head of Sector - Neurosciences, European Comission) and Christian Suojanen (Co-founder and chairman, TTS Global Initiative) will participate.
IMPORTANT: The call for ICEX has already closed. Companies that want to participate in the convention must process the registration directly with the BIO International Convention organization.

At the level of the Catalan delegation, 26 Catalan companies and entities have confirmed their presence at the event:
The 2018 convention was held in Boston, with 37 Catalan companies and organizations. The event brought together more than 18,000 industry leaders from 67 countries and hosted 46,000 partnering meetings. So, BIO is a great opportunity to get in touch with top executives and decision-makers who attend the convention, and to discover new players in the industry, set up collaborations and assess emerging technology.
