Biocat coordinated once again the Catalan delegation at BIO International Convention, the leading global convention and partnering event in the biotechnology sector that was held from 19th to 22th June 2017 in San Diego.
30 Catalan companies and entities participated and 35 from the rest of Spain.
2017 edition of BIO International Convention was held at the San Diego Convention Center (California, USA) from 19th to 22th June 2017. Once again, Biocat coordinated the participation of the entities from the BioRegion of Catalonia and was the main interlocutor when making the necessary arrangements with ICEX, statewide coordinating body. The Spanish pavilion (booth #5315), where was located the Catalan BioRegion pavilion.

Different worldwide Bioregions showcased cutting edge oncology innovations as well as presented the most avant-garde business projects in front of 200 attendees related to investment and business development. The program included a poster exhibition, clusters and companies presentations and a networking reception.
Biocat and Catalonia Trade & Investment were event partners. Furthermore, Biocat showcased the main assets of the BioRegion of Catalonia. Afterwards, two Catalan companies exposed their innovate projects in oncology: Ability Pharmaceuticals and ZeClinics. Sign up ICCS here.

Headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, with U.S. corporate office in Cambridge, MA (one of the European leaders in the development of epigenetics-based therapeutics) presented its innovation for the selective inhibitor of the LSD1, ORY-1001, aimed to patients with acute leukemia. Products ORY-2001 and ORY-3001 aimed to neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory disorders were also explained.

So far, 30 BioRegion companies and organizations in the fields of biotechnology, pharma as well as research centers and consultancy services were at the fair.
5 companies (BCN Peptides, Oryzon Genomics, Salvat Biotech, Trifermed and ZeClinics) were present with a booth within the pavilion of the Bioregion, but Grifols had its own booth (#5007) at the fair outside the Spanish pavilion.
