Biospain Santiago de Compostela 2014

For yet another year, Biocat was present in Biospain 2014, which took place from 24 to 26 September 2014, in Santiago de Compostela. Over 60 Catalan companies presented their products and services during the fair, participating in the different partnering meetings that were held throughout the event, which has become a reference in the biotechnology sector in Spain.

Biospain 2014

To be able to attend to the Catalan companies and institutions participating in the event, Biocat set up a stand in the fair’s exhibition zone (E 14-16/F 13-15).

As in previous editions, Biocat actively collaborated with Biospain, organizing a roundtable that was held on 24 September. The purpose of the session was to discuss acceleration models for innovative start-ups, within the European clusters track. In addition, as a partner of the European Transbio SUDOE project, it helped organize and participated in a debate on collaboration and transfer of technology between regions in southern Europe, as part of the same scientific program track.

Biospain 2014 welcomed 200 exhibitors, more than 850 companies and institutions and over 1,850 delegates from 37 countries. During the event, 3,327 one-to-one meetings were held, representing an increase of 20% in respect to the 2012 edition, thanks to which Biospain became the largest partnering, technology transfer, and business event in the world. In 2014 it was ranked fifth worldwide.

Included among the BioRegion companies whose presence during the event was particularly relevant were Bioibèrica, Oryzon, Almirall, Grífols, Caixa Capital Risc, Ferrer, Amgen and Asphalion.
