BioRegion Forum

The Forum of the BioRegion is a meeting of representatives from companies and organizations in the healthcare and life sciences sector in Catalonia. Held by Biocat with collaboration from several organizations every year from 2008 to 2011, the last edition was in 2016.

The event will bring together professionals from the business and financial sector, managers of research centers and institutes, and representatives of universities and hospitals. The event will also feature top-level representatives of the Government of Catalonia, the Barcelona City Council and the Biocat Board of Trustees.

The 2016 Forum of the BioRegion was a meeting to promote reflection and knowledge in this arena, with international experts presenting successful public-private partnership experiences; discussions of where the biopharma, medtech and digital health subsectors are heading; and opportunities for dialogue and networking.

Biocat and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce convoked all the companies and entities in the biotechnology, biomedicine and medical technologies sector of the BioRegion of Catalonia in the fourth edition of the Biocat Forum which, under the slogan The value of the cluster, fostered innovation and promoted collaboration among the more than 450 representatives of organizations in the scientific, healthcare, business and financial fields.

Connect, build the future. Biocat, in collaboration with the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, brought together more than 700 representatives from all of the companies and organizations in the biotechnology, biomedicine and medical technology sector in the BioRegion of Catalonia at the Biocat Forum, which for the third year in a row fostered joint collaboration in innovation.

Biocat, with collaboration from the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, organized another edition of the Forum of the BioRegion. The event was a huge success in terms of participation and has consolidated this great gathering of the biotechnology and biomedical sector in Catalonia, which aims to dynamize and consolidate the biocluster.

The first Forum of the BioRegion held in 2008 was an unprecedented event in the Catalan biotechnology and biomedical sector. An intense day of work that brought together more than 500 professionals from the business and financial sector, researchers, managers of research centers and institutes, and representatives from universities and hospitals to participate in conferences, panel discussions and exhibitions.
