Biocat has experience in accelerating healthcare projects and developing talent since 2008. In 10 years, Biocat has invested over €11 million, distributed in 300 programs attended by more than 2,300 students. Moebio brings together several different training programs of various lengths, all of which aim to promote entrepreneurship and innovation at the intersection of technology, biosciences, health and business management. CRAASH Barcelona is currently looking for top-notch healthtech technology (diagnostic, devices, and e-/digital health - drug discovery and drug development are not included), emerging from research centers, research institutes and universities in the BioRegion of Catalonia and other European ecosystems.
CRAASH Barcelona supports research projects with a TRL 3-4 (proof of concept / proof of feasibility). Established companies can also apply if they are looking for an application in healthcare for their technology and/or searching/validating their business model.
Design Health Barcelona (d·HEALTH Barcelona) is a 9-month postgraduate program to develop entrepreneurs and future leaders in healthcare innovation. The course, based on the prestigious Stanford University's Biodesign Fellowship, has a needs-driven innovation focus and it guides multidisciplinary groups of students through a full cycle of innovation, from needs identification to designing and prototyping a viable solution, as well as searching for funding.
“Probably the best healthcare innovation accelerator in Europe” according to Health Startup Europe, the program collaborates with Hospital Clínic, Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus and Institut Guttmann, and is beginnin its fifth edition in January 2018.
Previous editions have led to several business projects and 97% of the fellows find a job in the healthcare sector.
In 2014, the initiative also launched its MOEBIO Short Programs, training courses taken from the d·HEALTH Barcelona program that are open to all members of the BioRegion and deal with key issues in healthcare, innovation, management and entrepreneurialism.
Enrollment closed to the MOEBIO Short Programs 2018, the inscriptions for the next edition will open at the beginning of 2019.
