About the event

The event Digital Transformation in Health: Advancing Precision Medicine and Artificial Intelligence in Catalonia, organized by Bioinformatics Barcelona (BIB), will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025, in Barcelona, from 9 AM to 5 PM.

This conference will serve as a space for dialogue and reflection on the present and future of the digitalization of the healthcare system in Catalonia, with the participation of leading professionals and institutional representatives. Key topics will include precision medicine, data management, interoperability, artificial intelligence, and the training of professionals needed to successfully drive this digital transformation.

What is BIB?

Bioinformatics Barcelona (BIB) is a non-profit association for the provision of education and training, the promotion of advanced research, knowledge and technology transfer, the stimulation of competitiveness and innovation within the industrial sector, and the provision of greater visibility as an international node in the field of Bioinformatics.

Strategic Areas

The association’s purpose is to respond to the needs and challenges that the Bioinformatic community faces. BIB’s strategic plan defines five main strategic areas to achieve its aims:

  • Education and Training: To develop new educational programmes and activities in vocational education and training, undergraduate and post-graduate education, and lifelong learning.
     
  • Industry sector: To contribute to increasing companies’ competitiveness and innovation.
     
  • Research and knowledge transfer: To accelerate collaborative research and innovation initiatives.
     
  • Visibility: To provide greater visibility for its members and its current potential.
     
  • Internal and external collaboration: To encourage cooperation among universities, research centres, business, individuals, and public and private entities in order to carry out the remaining strategic lines.
