Devicare, winner in 2013, has also won this year’s EmprenedorXXI award
On Friday 20 June, 13 projects were selected to participate in the seventh edition of the BioEmprenedorXXI program and compete for the corresponding awards. The projects, which have come out of universities and research institutions, include medical technology, biotechnology, services in technology platforms and diagnostic kits. Each year BioEmprenedorXXI recognizes the most innovative projects in the life sciences sector, highlighting those with the most potential for growth in Catalonia. The initiative is promoted by "la Caixa", Barcelona Activa and Biocat, and includes a €12,000 prize and various advisory, incubation and internationalization actions.
The quality of the projects in the BioEmprenedorXXI program is very high, featuring projects with great potential that is increasing every year. This can be seen in the fact that the winner of the 2013 edition, the company Devicare headed up by Rosendo Garganta, has also recently won the EmprenedorXXI Award. The history of Devicare validates the selection of the BioEmprenedorXXI panel of judges and shows that the company has continued growing and innovating since then.
The positive results of the 7 editions of the BioEmprenedorXXI program have led research institutes in Warsaw (Poland) to consider implementing the program in their country.
