Barcelona Health Innovation Week prepares fifth edition and opens agenda of activities to ecosystem
The initiative will once again bring together startups, companies, research centers, hospitals, universities and support entities for a week showcasing health innovation in Catalonia. BioRegion organizations can now propose sessions and activities for the 2027 program.

The fifth edition of Barcelona Health Innovation Week (BHIW) will be held from February 15 to 19, 2027, with the aim of once again highlighting the vibrancy, diversity and innovative capacity of Catalonia’s life sciences and healthcare ecosystem.
Promoted by Biocat, the initiative will turn Barcelona and its metropolitan area into a meeting point for startups, companies, hospitals, research centers, universities, investment funds, support entities and other sector stakeholders.
Barcelona Health Innovation Week features a decentralized schedule of activities run by the ecosystem to share knowledge, present new solutions, foster connections and showcase the innovation taking place in the BioRegion of Catalonia.
Add an activity to the BHIW 2027 agenda
Organizations in the ecosystem are invited to propose sessions and activities to add to the fifth edition.
Panel discussions, seminars, presentations, facility tours, training sessions, demonstrations and networking events are some of the formats that participants can bring to the BHIW 2027 agenda.
Taking part in the initiative is an opportunity to raise awareness of projects, innovations and specialized knowledge; strengthen positioning; and forge connections with key professionals and stakeholders in the sector.

An initiative that grows with the ecosystem
Barcelona Health Innovation Week is now in its fifth edition after bringing together 56 activities organized by 52 entities from February 16 to 20, 2026.
Hospitals, research centers, universities, startups, companies, investment funds and innovation support entities put together a diverse schedule of activities, focusing particularly on digital health and artificial intelligence, technology transfer, talent, advanced therapies, biotechnology and drug development, and funding.
Over four editions, the initiative has consolidated its role as a showcase for innovation in the BioRegion and a way to open the ecosystem’s doors, share knowledge and foster new collaborations.
