On 28 and 29 April, the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) will host TTS Europe – the spring summit of the TTS Global Initiative. For the first time this year, the summit will be held in conjunction with the closing event of the European ENTENTE Health program, designed to build experience and best practices in the field of innovation and technology transfer in health.

TTS Europe provides the perfect environment for university technology offices and early-stage biotechnology and life sciences companies to develop their technological and business offerings through debate and deliberation with opinion leaders from all of the groups involved in healthcare and biotechnology innovation, leading to important business opportunities.

This joint event of the two initiatives –with collaboration from Biocat– will feature renowned keynote speakers including industry leaders, investors and directors of technology transfer from leading organizations around Europe.

Some of the most noteworthy among them include Sir Gregory Winter, professor at Trinity College, genetic engineer and founder of Cambridge Antibody Technology, Domantis and Bicycle Therapeutics, and Robert G. Urban, head of Johnson & Johnson Innovation in Boston and former founding executive director of the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Additionally, Ruxandra Draghi Akli, head of Healthcare for the European Commission DG Research & Innovation, will explain the CE’s plans to support innovation in technology transfer. Steve Ford, director of Parkinson’s UK, and Bonny Harbinger, innovation advisor to the US Department of Health & Human Services, will also be among the keynote speakers at the event.

Several Catalan organizations will participate in TTS Europe and the final ENTENTE Health event, including the Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Barcelona (IRB Barcelona), the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the Clínic Foundation, the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation and the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR).
