Under the Czech presidency of the Council of the European Union, the European Commission and the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP), Prague hosted the eighth edition of the 2022 European Cluster Conference on September 26 and 27, where political leaders, cluster managers, professionals, and other stakeholders met. After a totally virtual edition in 2020, this year's edition was an opportunity for the community of clusters to once again gather physically.

As a European cluster in healthcare innovation which is heavily involved in a variety of EU projects, Biocat attended to promote BRIGHT, the project launched in February 2022 that it is coordinating to improve the services that facilitate the digitalization of the life sciences ecosystem, and to present the BioMan4R2 project, in which it is participating. The new program offers financial support and connections to small and medium-sized companies in the sectors of biological and medical technology product manufacturing which wish to boost their resilience, sustainability, and competitiveness.

Additionally, Biocat took advantage of its attendance at the event to participate in the activities organized by the CEBR and to explore opportunities for trade, investment, and association, as well as developing connections among Europe’s value chains and ecosystems.

The conference provided many spaces to interact and influence Europe-wide actions that impact the companies in the BioRegion. “It is a space to gain awareness of the industry's needs and to find partners to address them,” said Montse Daban, the director of Science Policy and Internationalization at Biocat.
