Biocat was honored with the Trofeu Esperit Solidari (Charity Spirit Trophy) in the first edition of the BCN Research & Tech Games 2025 after donating €206 to Doctors Without Borders through the 26 participations of its team in various activities. With an average donation of €7.92 per participant, Biocat stood out as the center with the biggest charity contribution of the whole competition.

The BCN Research & Tech Games were created to highlight the pride of working in research and technology and to establish a shared space where researchers and professionals from centers and companies in the BioRegion of Catalonia can connect, have fun and forge synergies. The event, held September 27 to November 8, was a gathering point combining community, health, sports and charity.

In this first edition, the games brought together 985 participants from 8 centers, competing in a total of 15 activities, including 3x3 basketball, bowling, futsal, urban treasure hunt, table tennis, padel, running, Takeshi’s Castle, laser tag, rockfit, outdoor challenges, zumba and escape room, among others.

Biocat actively took part in a wide range of activities and won a gold medal in the Outdoor Challenges event together with I3PT. However, beyond the sporting results, the organization was specifically recognized for its charity spirit, which put the team at the top of the event’s social ranking.

This recognition reaffirms Biocat’s commitment to a connected, committed, socially impactful health innovation ecosystem, and celebrates initiatives like the BCN Research & Tech Games that strengthen the community and promote shared values among organizations in the BioRegion of Catalonia.
