Consorci de Serveis Universitaris de Catalunya created
The CSUC aims to make more efficient use of available ICT resources

The Consorci de Serveis Universitaris de Catalunya (CSUC) has been created through the merger of the Consorci de Serveis Científics i Acadèmics de Catalunya (CESCA) and the Consorci de Biblioteques Universitàries de Catalunya (CBUC).
This new institution was created in order to more effectively support the university community, as Managing Director Miquel Puig explains: “Catalan universities can be more efficient by sharing services and infrastructures.” Furthermore, the new consortium also incorporates services that weren’t provided previously (like joint procurement and cloud IT services) and seeks out synergies within the university system, while sharing academic and scientific, library, knowledge-transfer and management services.
The CSUC is made up of the Government of Catalonia and ten universities: the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC), Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Universitat de Lleida (UdL), Universitat de Girona (UdG), Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), Universitat Ramon Llull (URL) and Universitat de Vic (UVic). These bodies will work together to define the strategic focal points for the services provided by the CSUC.
