The Council of European Bioregions (CEBR), currently presided over by Biocat CEO Montserrat Vendrell, is holding an event on clinical innovation on 21 and 22 November 2013 in Stockholm. With this event entitled ICT and life sciences in meeting clinical and patient needs. Sectorial cluster convergence and the role of the cluster manager, CEBR aims to bring together heads and managers of hospitals and leading life sciences clusters from around Europe, including both CEBR members and non-members.

Participants from Biocat will include Jordi Fàbrega, director of Business Development, who will present the new Design Health Barcelona program (d·HEALTH Barcelona) promoted by Biocat to bring disruptive innovation to the Catalan healthcare sector, which has put Barcelona in the premiere league of benchmark cities in innovation and medical technology.

The event will focus on how to forge productive alliances among clinical stakeholders in the various regions, ways to mobilize convergent technology  —including nanotechnology and biotechnology— and tools that can help boost innovation, with the aim of improving clinical efficiency and patient care. The meeting will also assess how these actions fit into Europe’s emerging smart specialization strategies (RIS3) and a practical route to implement them.

Registration (free for CEBR members and €150 for non-members)

Date: 21 and 22 November 2013
Venue: Stockholm (Sweden)
