EIT Health to hold 'Innovation & Business' Summer School on innovation in active, healthy ageing in Dublin and Barcelona

Registration open through 7 June

EIT Health –one of the largest health initiatives in the world– is holding the Innovation & Business Summer School in July at Trinity College in Dublin (6-10 July) and IESE Business School in Barcelona (27-31 July). The school will welcome 40 students who, through an active learning system, will develop the practical skills needed to be successful in health innovation, specifically in the field of active, healthy ageing. At the end of the program, participants will know how to transform ideas from their research into products, services and policies to improve health and generate financial, social and cultural benefits.
There is no registration fee, as EIT Health, Trinity College and IESE will cover all expenses, including lunches on campus. Students, however, must cover their own travel expenses and accommodations (low-cost accommodations will be available for students).
Scientists, researchers, PhD students, postdocs and innovators with an innovative idea and an entrepreneurial spirit can participate in this school. To get a place, students must fill in the online form before 7 June 2015. Candidates will be selected based on their CV and letter of motivation and a potentially innovative idea in the field of active, health ageing and its future impact. Although this idea is not required, it will be highly valued. For more information, contact info@summerschool.eithealth.eu.
The program for the Summer School will be divided into two one-week sessions with a two-week gap in between to allow students to work on their individual or group projects. The program combines theory and practice through real industrial projects from the medical, health and technology sector. Consolidated businesspeople and venture capitalists will share their experience with students, while a coach will work with participants to help them develop and present their ideas to a panel of experts.
EIT Health has nodes in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Sweden and Germany.
