Eleven Catalan companies from the healthcare sector present business plans to private investors
The Healthcare Investment Forum, driven by COMB, Esade BAN, Barcelona Activa and Biocat, is being held today. In 2011, 45 companies participated, raising €1.5 millions in private funding.

The sixth Healthcare Investment Forum is being held today at the Barcelona Medical Association (COMB). This event —driven by COMB, Esade BAN, Barcelona Activa and Biocat— aims to improve access to private funding for companies in the city’s health sector that need an injection of between €200,000 and €2 millions.
Some thirty applications were received for this edition, from which the 11 companies with the highest potential for growth were selected to participate. Each of the selected companies has twenty minutes to present their business project to the 200 private investors, representatives of venture capital funds, entrepreneuring doctors, researchers, healthcare managers and executives from pharma companies. The selected companies are:

- Fundació Pascual Maragall
- Amadix
- LifeSciences Entrepreneurs
- Active Life Scientific
- eDoctores Soluciones
After the presentations, there will be a networking event to encourage interaction among the entrepreneurs and investors and facilitate new business opportunities.
The healthcare sector is key to the transformation of Barcelona’s productive model towards value-added fields. At the various editions of the Healthcare Investment Forum held in 2011, the 45 participating companies raised a total of €1.5 millions in private funding.
