The Inkemia IUCT Group Knowledge Capital Fund has invested €240,000 in biotechnology firm Biodan Sciences of Madrid, which specializes in natural cosmetics. This accounts for 19% of Biodan’s total capital, an amount that could rise to 21.5% over the coming two years. The company is valued at €1.26 millions.
Biodan Sciences develops ingredients and manufactures organic and natural products for the cosmetics and parapharmacy sector. It was created in 2011 by Alfredo Brisac, partner at Neumann International AG consultancy from 2004 to 2008.
The InKemia fund joins the equity holders of biotechnology and green chemistry companies in the early stages of development and forges synergies with other companies to bring value added to their investments. The aim is to invest €4 millions over the coming 10 years. Before Biodan Sciences, they invested in Phyture Biotech, which works with plant stem cells, and Enemce Pharma, which develops drugs for the cardiovascular system.
