Institutional and business mission to Mexico organized by ACCIÓ
The program is geared toward the pharmaceutical sector, among others
The Agency of Competitiveness for Companies in Catalonia (ACCIÓ) is organizing an institutional and business mission to Mexico from 4 through 10 October 2014 to forge and boost business and institutional relations between Catalonia and this Latin American country. The mission will be led by Felip Puig, Catalan Minister of Enterprise and Employment.
The program is geared towards the automobile, textile and fashion, and pharmaceutical sectors. This last sector makes up 1.2% of the GDP of Mexico, with a market valued at more than $13,600 millions in 2012 and growth estimated at 8% per year through 2020. Mexico is the leading exporter of pharmaceuticals in Latin America and makes up 35% of the market in this region. The demand for products to treat diseases like diabetes and obesity is growing in this country and experts believe that there are also interesting opportunities for distributing or licensing products to local pharmaceutical companies, as well as for medical technology companies.
For participating companies, ACCIÓ is organizing a specific agenda for each sector that includes meetings with specific Mexican institutions and companies in each sector. Plus, they will also organize personalized individual meetings according to the interests of each of the participating companies.
The deadline for companies to register is 30 July.
