The ninth edition of BioAsia will be held from 9th to 11th February 2012 at Hyderadab (India) under the motto Optimizing Opportunities. The most important international trade fair for biotechnology and life sciences in India will strengthen biobusiness focusing on four areas: the rise of CRO, the rights of intellectual property, vaccines and investments.

The event is supported by the Government of India and the State Government of Andhra Pradesh. In 2011 it attracted 2,500 delegates from 38 different countries, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, venture capital, politicians, academics, heads of R & D hubs, among others. It also hosted 400 business meetings. During this edition presentation, Dr.  Raghavan, vice president of the Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA) explained that "the fair will have new areas and items to support multidisciplinary biobusiness as workshops and master classes on Developing an effective CIP and Cleaning Validation Program for FDA/EU Compliance, business presentations and the BioBazaar. Top executives from 16 biotech multinational companies have already confirmed their participation as speakers."

This way, apart from the trade exhibition and conference program, the fair offers partnership meetings, CEO Conclave (a workshop for senior executives on the impact of major trends in the major functions of an organization), a visit to the biocluster Genome Valley and several awards: Genome Valley Exellence Award, FABA Special Award, BioAsia Innovation Award and BioAsia Young Minds Award.
