Biocat marks 20 years driving BioRegion of Catalonia and kicks off year-long anniversary celebration
Biocat is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, marking two decades of supporting and driving growth in the life sciences and healthcare sector in Catalonia. This commemoration aims both to look back at our collective history and to look forward to reflect on the challenges facing the sector.

Founded on February 14, 2006, Biocat is rolling out a special program over the course of the year to revisit key milestones that have shaped the sector’s evolution over the past 20 years and to hear from the people who have made it possible. This includes the organizations, companies, professionals and public bodies that have helped consolidate Catalonia as one of Europe’s leading hubs for health innovation and as a strategic driving force for the country’s growth and competitiveness.
The 20th anniversary will kick off with the new commemorative logo that Biocat is unveiling today, which will serve as the shared visual identity for the year’s special initiatives and content through December. The first big date on the calendar will be the presentation of the 2025 BioRegion of Catalonia Report on February 19, with several surprises related to the celebrations.
The anniversary program will also feature a key event: a great public gathering on November 2, culminating a year of celebration and recognition of the ecosystem’s shared journey.
Through these and other initiatives to be revealed throughout the year, Biocat aims to celebrate two decades of progress by highlighting what has made the ecosystem’s transformation possible: collaboration and a shared desire to boost its impact on people’s health.
We invite you to follow the anniversary on all of Biocat’s channels—on social media with the hashtags #Biocat20anys and #BioRegio20anys—and to proudly join this journey through the past with sights set on the future, honoring and showcasing two decades of growth, connections and projects that have pushed the BioRegion of Catalonia forward.
