Biocat seeks therapies in the early stage
<p>A new program will put drug-discovery projects in contact with partners to set up research collaboration models</p>
Promoting early-stage therapy projects to accelerate their path to the preclinical phase. This is the aim of Here comes your lead, a new Biocat initiative that will put drug-discovery projects in contact with partners to set up research collaboration models, at the meeting that will take place in Barcelona this April.
So, Biocat is looking for research projects in the BioRegion of Catalonia working to develop therapies currently in the early stages and take them into more advanced phases of drug discovery. Registration to participate is free of charge and open through March 20.
Collaboration through shared risk
Biocat is organizing an event where the projects submitted will be able to meet with national and international platforms, CROs and big pharma (partners) looking for projects to establish a research collaboration model with shared risk and profit. This year, the partners participating in the event include Evotec, LifeArc, FuturRX, Inkemia IUCT and Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG).
Both the partners and the projects will be able to choose the proposals that best fit their interests and hold private meetings during the event, which will be on April 26 at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB). At the event, the partners will also give presentations on their companies, which are open to the whole scientific community.
The initiative has the support of Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG). Projects interested in participating in the event will be submitted online through March 20.
