CDTI improves grants for R&D&i projects
Projects of Excellence and International Technological Cooperation with advantages in non-reimbursable expenses
The Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO) Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) has introduced several improvements to their grants for R&D&i projects. Noteworthy among these measures is the extension of non-reimbursable expenses (TNR) for the following types of projects:
- Projects of Excellence: those that encourage participation through outsourcing to research bodies. The TNR were previously 10% for any type of company; after this modification, they are now 15% for SMEs (remaining at 10% for large corporations)
- International Technological Cooperation Projects: including international projects with certification and unilateral monitoring of the CDTI and those associated with large international scientific/technological facilities. The TRN has gone from 18% for all companies to 25% for SMEs and 20% for large corporations.
Furthermore, the amortization period has also been extended for projects funded through the Direct Line of Innovation. It may now extend to five years, plus an additional year of interest-only payments if necessary. At the last board meeting, the CDTI also approved 114 new technology projects with a total budget of €85.8 millions.
