The Daniel Bravo Andreu Private Foundation has opened a new call for proposals for three research grants for researchers conducting research in Catalonia interested in doing a short stay at leading centers in pediatric and adult cardiovascular health in North America and Europe. The deadline is 8 March. Each grant comes with a €3,000 monthly stipend (plus travel expenses) for a short stay, between one and nine months.

These grants aim to create a network of collaborative research between biomedical research groups of excellence in Catalonia and the world. As the rules state, the grant must enable researchers to start a new joint project involving both groups and for there to be a plan for future collaboration. The group of independent specialists assessing the proposals submitted will also take into account whether the grant will allow the visiting researcher to learn or be trained in a specific technique or methodology used by the host group to later be incorporated into the home group upon their return to Catalonia.

The researchers selected will be announced in April 2017. Scientists that have received grants through the Daniel Bravo Foundation in previous years have worked with some of the most prestigious centers in the world in cardiovascular research, including Massachusetts General Hospital, MRC Human Genetics Unit in Edinburgh, Columbia University in New York, University of California and University College London.

To be considered for the grants, applicants must fill out and submit the online form and attach a letter of recommendation from their mentor and an acceptance letter from the center where they will carry out their research.
