This evening it will take place in London the first BioTuesday of the Oxfordshire Biotech Network (OBN), one of the eight clusters founders of the European Diagnostic Cluster Alliance (EDCA), among which there is also Biocat in representation of the BioRegion of Catalonia. BioTuesday is a networking meeting where a scientific, entrepreneurial and financial subject of interest is treated, and will gather between 70 and 120 main scientists and representatives of in vitro diagnosis companies of the Oxford BioRegion.

Delegates to this event will hear a number of case studies, including and outstanding Bob Holland’s, Head Personalised Healthcare & Biomarkers of AstraZeneca, who will describe how AZ collaborated with a small in vitro diagnostics company from Manchester to develop a lung cancer treatment. Also, there will be presentations from Dr. Julie Barnes, CEO of Abcodia, and Dr. John Anson, Vice President of Oxford Gene Technology, who will talk about biomarkers success cases.

Apart from these talks, Bruce Savage, CEO of GFC Diagnostics and representative of the OBN at EDCA, will present the European alliance and will explain its objectives: to promote competitiveness of in-vitro diagnosis European actors through lobbying, networking and innovative partnerships; to facilitate and accelerate the internationalisation, and to drive the preeminent role of diagnostics in medical practice.
