The fourth edition of the Berlin-Brandenburg Technology Forum, which will be held on 8 June 2012, has become a benchmark event to discuss new trends in the field of in vitro diagnostics and to foster collaboration among basic research, industrial development and clinical applications.

The event is organized by ZMDB/BioTOP Berlin-Brandenburg, in collaboration with the European Diagnostic Clusters Alliance (EDCA)Biocat is one of the founding members of the EDCA— and held in one of the leading bioregions for the development of in vitro diagnostics in Germany. Charité University —one of the most important university hospitals in Europe— is located in the Berlin-Brandenburg bioregion, as well as roughly twenty research institutes focusing on identifying new biomarkers and technology platforms, plus more than 80 diagnostics companies.

This event is specially designed for diagnostics companies and research institutes, as it facilitates the search for new partners in Europe and joint opportunities.

This edition of the Berlin-Brandenburg Technology Forum will focus on the impact of new technology platforms and next-generation sequencing on the development of diagnostics, as well as biomarker development strategies and future perspectives for personalized medicine.

The program is broken down into:

  • Conference sessions grouped into three main areas: Biomarker and Clinical Research, Technology Development and Industrial Development-Medical Application.
  • Partnering event
  • Business presentations
  • Exhibition area

The conference program features Dr. Ivo Gut, director of the National Genome Analysis Center (CNAG), who will give a lecture entitled High resolution whole genome analysis and cancer during the Technology Development session.
