The Catalan Institution of Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA) has opened a call, ICREA Senior Call 2010, to search 20 high level researchers with an extensive international scientific experience and leadership capabilities.
The selected candidates, who will sign an indefinite contract, will join Catalan universities and research centers to lead new groups of research, to back up the existing ones and arrange new lines of research. The strategic areas of research will set taking into account the Plan of Research and Innovation 2010-2013 of the Catalan Government (pending approval).
ICREA researchers contribute substantially in their areas of research and are active members of the Catalan scientific community. In this sense, the new senior researchers’ progress on research will be evaluated after a period of three years. An extern committee will make evaluations taking into account both scientific production as well as activity in research.
Since ICREA was established eight years ago, it has hired 222 experts of 30 different countries, 32.5% from life sciences area.
