The International Expoquimia Fair, held this week in Barcelona, will feature industrial, healthcare and agrifood biotechnology, given their close links to the chemical industry. Alongside the traditional fair, this year’s event will include the Biotech Forum, from 16 through 18 November 2011, with a series of conferences carried out in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Biotechnology Companies (Asebio).
The session on white or industrial biotechnology (16 November) will deal with topics like Green Chemistry and responsible use of nanoparticles; that devoted to green or agrifood biotechnology (17 November) will include regulation of plant biotechnology for a growing population and biotechnology as an open door for classical chemistry, and those on red or healthcare biotechnology (18 November) will center on the production and applications of aptamers and manufacturing of biological drugs for human use.
