In order to recognize extraordinary research activity, the Lilly Foundation has opened a call for proposals for its Preclinical and Clinical Biomedical Research Awards 2015.

The awards are geared towards researchers who have made a significant contribution to the development of biomedicine and the health sciences in Spain, and whose research activity is world renowned. Any researchers from public or private healthcare or research centers in Spain are eligible to submit proposals.

There are two categories: preclinical and clinical research. The preclinical category is for researchers doing basic research focusing on obtaining knowledge with clinical applications on any methodological level. The clinical category is for researchers doing work with human subjects, also on any methodological level. The awards in both categories, €40,000 each, will be granted exclusively to one individual.

Candidates to the awards must be nominated by people or institutions from the biomedical or health-sciences arenas. In order to submit nominations, send a letter to the Director of the Lilly Foundation with the required documents.

Participants must send their proposal with the pertinent documents by e-mail before 15 February 2015. Once the panel of judges has looked over all of the proposals, the results will be announced at an awards ceremony held by the Lilly Foundation.

See the rules and regulations for the call.
