The seventh edition of Health 2.0 Europe, one of the top digital health conferences in Europe, will be held from 10 to 12 May in Barcelona. The event will bring together more than 700 professionals from around the world to discuss the latest news in the sector, with demonstrations of more than 50 innovative technology products.

The EC2VC investment forum will be held on the first day, with a different format than previous editions: 11 finalist companies –some newly created like Mint Labs and Teckel Medical and others in more advanced stages, like HealthApp and PatientPharma– will present their projects to a panel of investors. This panel will include Katrin Geyskens of Capricorn Venture Partners (Belgium), Min-Sung Sean Kim of XL Health (Germany), Franck Noiret of Innovation Capital (France) and Josep Lluís Sanfeliu of Ysios (Spain).

Biocat, as a strategic partner for the conference, will participate in two sessions. The first is called Building Blocks to a Dynamic Health 2.0 Ecosystem in Europe, on Wednesday 11 May at 2:10 pm, moderated by Jorge Gonzalez of TICBioMed. Speakers will include Jorge Juan Fernández, academic director for the Moebio program –a Biocat initiative– and head of e-Health and Health 2.0 at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona; Joan Cornet of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Pēteris Zilgalvis of the European Commission’s DG CONNECT, Unity Stoakes of StartUp Health and Anssi Pulkkinen of Tekes. They will all speak about European, national and regional initiatives underway to promote collaboration among European stakeholders in digital health.

On Thursday 12 May at 12:25 pm, there will be a panel discussion entitled Choosing your Digital Health Acceleratorwhich Jorge Juan Fernández will also participate in, this time as the moderator. The debate will focus on digital health accelerators and will include Markus Wilhelms, CEO of usMIMA, start-up emerged from d·HEALTH Barcelona Moebio program –an initiative of Biocat–; Silvia Raga, CEO of DyCare; Oren Fuerst, founder of Eco-Fusion, and Michiel Alessie, CEO of Bruxlab. They will share their experiences and debate the criteria that must be applied in choosing the right accelerator for each innovative project.

The Health 2.0 conference will also feature speakers like Esther Dyson, renowned in the business world in the United States and an opinion leader in digital health; and Dr. Rafael Grossmann, the first surgeon to operate with the Google Glass enhanced reality glasses, who will share his views on the use of new technology in medicine.
