The Boost4Health project, under the Interreg North-West Europe program, has opened a new call for voucher applications to promote the internationalization of small and medium-sized companies.  These vouchers give SMEs financial support for training, consultants, access to activities and connections with European providers in order to promote their international growth. Boost4Health will give out 110 vouchers this year through its regional partners. Companies in the BioRegion that are interested can apply for these vouchers through Biocat now through September 2021.

Information session on the Boost4Health vouchers

On May 9, there will be an information session explaining how the Boost4Health and CE4BIG support vouchers work and which companies are eligible. Plus, the event will include success stories from SMEs who received this micro-funding in past editions, like Avida Biotech, a company that develops preventive and therapeutic products for infectious diseases caused by viruses. There will also be a space to contact other European partners.

How to apply for Boost4Health micro-funding

The Boost4Health project, under the Interreg North-West Europe program, helps SMEs bring their innovations to foreign markets in the Boost4Health regions: BioRegion of Catalonia (Spain), Wallonia (Belgium), Denmark (whole country), Brittany (France), Pays de la Loire et Centre (France), Hauts-de-France (France), BioRegio STERN in Baden-Württemberg (Germany), North Brabant Province (Netherlands), Gelderland Province (Netherlands), Overijssel Province (Netherlands), Kent County (United Kingdom) and Greater Manchester (United Kingdom).

One of the Boost4Health lines of action is to provide financial support to incentivize transnational collaboration. SMEs can apply for micro-funding to carry out internationalization and validation activities.

The funding is awarded through two types of grants, issued periodically:

  • Connection vouchers (up to €500) for SMEs to connect with service providers within North-West Europe, through online events or matchmaking activities, either in person or online.  For example, to cover travel costs or registration for an event.

  • Support vouchers (up to €1,500) for establishing international collaborations, which can include exploring a new market, developing products or research.

To apply for these vouchers, SMEs first need an approved account on the Boost4Health website. Then they can express interest in the voucher that best fits their interests (only one voucher application per category). Additionally, companies interested in providing services to innovative SMEs can sign up for the program as service providers.

We recommend contacting the regional Boost4Health partner (for Catalonia it is Biocat, by email at  biocat@boost4health.eu
