Oncology brings together Barcelona, Toulouse and Montpellier
The Catalan Occitan Oncology Group celebrates its 20th annual meeting in Barcelona with leading oncologists, medical physicists and radiotherapy technicians from both regions.

The 20th meeting of the Catalan Occitan Oncology Group (GOCO), this time organized by Hospital Plató, will be held next 23rd November in Barcelona. This scientific association, created in 1992, meets once a year to share experiences and to discuss new developments and the latest research on cancer and its treatment. The meeting gathers researchers and medical professionals in the multidisciplinary field of radiation oncology in Catalonia and Occitania (Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrenees). Currently, there are 16 hospitals and Catalan research centers linked to this group and 2 French ones.
The opening will feature Dr A. Pedro, chairman of the Organizing Committee, Fernando Moreno, president of GOCO, and Jordi Pujol, managing director of Hospital Plató. This year’s plenary session will focus on oncology in the XXI century and the project Oncopole to fight cancer. It will count with the participation of Dr Josep M. Borràs, Director of the Master Plan of Oncology, Department of Health of the Government of Catalonia, and Professor Michel Attal, Director of the Institute Regaud Claudius of Toulouse.
For the last part of the day, there is scheduled a special lecture on the history of GOCO and also an exhibit of the work the group is ongoing.
