On 22 September, French pharmaceutical company Pierre Fabre visited Barcelona to scout for possible collaborations with companies in the BioRegion of Catalonia through Biocat, which as the cooperation stakeholder in the sector regularly welcomes international companies and delegations interested in doing business with Catalan companies.
The meeting with Jean-Louis Vidaluc, senior manager for Preclinical Research at the Pierre Fabre Research Center, and Manuel Velasco, senior manager for External Research at Pierre Fabre, resulted in specific meetings held with four Catalan biotechnology companies, three of which are located in the Barcelona Science Park, that are working on innovative projects that fit with Pierre Fabre’s needs in the oncology arena.
The response of executives at the Fabre laboratories, surprised by the high quality projects they saw, opens up the possibility of continuing to forge alliances with stakeholders in the BioRegion, which is something Biocat will continue working on in order to promote access to funding.
