Novartis España is offering a postdoctoral grant at the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona to candidates fitting the following profile: a PhD scientist having recognized research experience, a high level of English, and at least three articles as author or co-author in journals that appear in the Science Citation Index.

The two-year position is slated to begin in January 2011, and will carry a gross annual salary of 30,000 euros.

The greatest benefit: working at the CRG and its affiliated institutions. The CRG is part of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), which neighbors other biomedical research institutes, including the Hospital del Mar Research Institute (IMIM), Centro de Medicina Regenerativa de Barcelona (CMRB) and the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

Since its third edition, the Novartis España postdoctoral grant in genomics research has been offered at the CRG, which is dedicated to basic research in genomics and proteomics. The Center presently hosts 29 research groups organized into six programs and led by prestigious scientists such as Roderic Guigó, Miguel Beato, Xavier Estivill, Thomas Graf, Vivek Malhotra and Luis Serrano. Personnel have access to state-of-the-art scientific and technical facilities, such as those for genomics (including microarrays, genotyping and ultra-sequencing), advanced microscopy, proteomics, robotics and bioinformatics, and share a modern animal facility.

Applications must be sent through the Novartis España website before 1st September 2010.
