How have the main health innovation indicators evolved this past year? Are the investment figures higher than last year for healthcare startups? How is Catalonia positioned compared to other regions in Europe? What are the gender indicators for the life sciences and healthcare sector? These are some of the questions that will be answered at the presentation of the BioRegion Report at an event in Barcelona’s AXA Auditorium on Monday, February 13. The event will feature representatives of the Government of Catalonia. 

Published by Biocat since 2009, it is the official report and benchmark of the sector, with collaboration this edition from ACCIÓ, CataloniaBio & HealthTech, Farmaindustria, Fenin and Amgen, and support from Alira Health and Eatris+.

The event will also feature various sessions and panel discussions with executives, professionals, venture capital managers and people working in academia, research and entrepreneurship in the sector. Here is a breakdown of the program and the topics that will be covered in each of the panel discussions:

Barcelona Health Innovation Week, a week dedicated to innovation in health

The presentation of the Barcelona Report will kick off Barcelona Health Innovation Week, which will run from Monday, February 13 to Thursday, February 16, with various stakeholders in the ecosystem offering investment, innovation and networking activities, some on a European level, to raise awareness of health innovations in the Catalan ecosystem.

Alguna de estas actividades serán el Tech Transfer Day, el encuentro anual de las OTT de Cataluña, la conferencia EUROSTARS: Collaborative funding programme for R&D performing companyies organizada por el Parc Científic de Barcelona y Catalyze o la mesa redonda Bridge to Industry – Complementary skills in Drug Development a cargo del Institut d'Investigació Biomèdica (IRB).

Some of these activities include Tech Transfer Day, the yearly meeting of TTO in Catalonia, the conference EUROSTARS: Collaborative Funding Program for R&D Performing Companies, organized by the Barcelona Science Park and Catalyze, and the panel discussion Bridge to Industry – Complementary Skills in Drug Development by the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB).
