'Vulcanus in Europe' now accepting applications to host Japanese interns
The program is promoted by the EU-Japan Center for Industrial Cooperation
The EU-Japan Center for Industrial Cooperation, an alliance of companies promoted by the Japanese government and the European Commission, is promoting "Vulcanus in Europe", a program that allows Japanese students to do internships in the European Union.
The program offers companies and spin-offs in the European Union the chance to host a Japanese intern for 8 months (August 2015 through March 2016). The interns are university and postgraduate students from various scientific disciplines: biotechnology, chemistry, biology, physics, engineering, architecture, etc. The deadline for applications is 30 September 2014.
The interns receive training through the European Union before starting work at the companies. They do a 15-week intensive language course and attend a seminar in Brussels to familiarize them with European culture and industry.
These stays can help companies interested in developing trade relations in Japan, as they allow them to learn about Japanese work culture and forge valuable scientific and labor cooperation links.
