IDEC-Pompeu Fabra University Alumni Association of the master in leadership and management in science and innovation, with the support of several sector entities, among them Biocat, are organising the Bioforum Research, Innovation and Biobusiness. Open discussion in a time of crisis. The Bioforum will take place next 29 September at IDEC main building in Barcelona.

The objective is to promote the exchange of ideas and experiences among biobusiness actors (investors, entrepreneurs, consultants...) and to become a networking opportunity for this entrepreneurial sector. Therefore, all professionals interested or related to innovation in biomedicine, biotechnology and biobusiness can take part in it.

The opening lecture How to promote biotechnology and biomedicine in a changing environment: challenges and opportunities will be offered by Biocat CEO Dr. Montserrat Vendrell. Afterwards, two debates will take place with the participation of managers of some main biotechnological and biomedical companies and entities of Spain: Anaxomics, Biokit, Gendiag, Genoma España, Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, Institut Grifols, Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), Janus Developments, Lille Healthcare Spain, Trifermed and Ysios Capital Partners.

  • Debate I Future in biomedicine and biotechnology: do we have a road map? The speakers will give a vision about the current state of biomedicine and biotechnology, apart from bringing the necessary models for the best sector development (possibilities, limits, opportunities, other countries experiences...).
  • Debate II Business development and creation of biocompanies: success factors and attitudes towards adversity. The speakers will explain the necessary tools to succeed with biocompanies. Three talks of fifteen minutes each (an investor, a bioentrepreneur and a business development consultant).
