The new Biocat Board of Trustees was established at a meeting held on 11 June, incorporating more representatives from the private sector in line with the new bylaws of the Foundation passed in October 2012. With this structure, the Biocat Board of Trustees now has six representatives from the Administration (Government of Catalonia and Barcelona City Council), ten from biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical technology companies, and five from scientific and educational bodies.
As previously, the Board of Trustees is presided over by President of the Government of Catalonia Artur Mas. The Foundation will also have a vice-president, Catalan Minister for Health Boi Ruiz, and a deputy vice-president, for which the nomination of Antonio Parente, president of CataloniaBIO, was approved.
