Launched in 2023, this program aims to expand the EIC Business Acceleration Services, tackling the two big challenges facing its beneficiaries: access to specialized services focused on the health sector and attracting private investors.

EIC partners address the first set of needs by providing:

  • Services like workshops, training and association on topics not covered under Business Acceleration Services (BAS).

  • Highly specific services, like the use of specific laboratory equipment or even relocation services and training on initial public offerings (IPOs).

  • Access to the partner’s acceleration, incubation or venture building programs, based on the stage of the technology and specifics of the innovative project.

In terms of co-investment, the beneficiaries get support and training to make the most of their interactions with the most significant investors, through events and pitches.

Biocat, as an EIC partner for the program, will offer the following services for beneficiaries of the program:

  1. Access to CRAASH Barcelona, the acceleration program that helps researchers and entrepreneurs launch innovations in the health tech arena to market, validating their market and business model. The program includes collaboration from the CIMIT accelerator (Boston).

  2. Training sessions through the Short Programs, under programs like d·HEALTH Barcelona Part Time: a series of conferences with top-notch experts to learn about innovation and entrepreneurship in the healthcare arena.

  3. Aid, guidance and connections to foster immersion in the Catalan healthcare system, facilitating interaction with key stakeholders in the healthcare system in the BioRegion.
